The Rope Swing
Now that the old rope swing near town has been removed by disgruntled land owners, this is the one to go to. It's much bigger than the other one--be prepared for some serious vert. Standing on the platform for the first time will be etched into your memory forever. Be sure to grab the knots tight and let go at the highest point for a big splash with observers. Note that Dartmouth Security loves to cut down the rope on a regular basis, but also note that Dartmouth Students just as regularly put a new rope up. Near the Golf Course. For exact location, ask any student.

there really is nothing like a good rope swing... when we were kids, my buddies and I used to climb up one of those jungle-gym things in my backyard and swing on a rope tied to an adjacent tree. got some serious vert on that, but we'd just land (often hard) on the grass.
